Barcelona, Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ …. (continued)

Out last day in Barcelona was fun!!!!
Final Day

Our final day in Spain was probably one of the best days we had there overall. We navigated throughout the city via taxi πŸš• for the most part. On the last day we decided to go with our normal routine and travel on the hop-on/ hop-off bus . This is a cost friendly form of transportation and it will take you to all of the major attractions the city has to offer. You can usually get a day pass for one person for $30-35 per person.

City tour is an unique way to see all of the major attractions !

The very first stop on our City Tour was probably the most popular stop, La Sagrada Familia. It is a large unfinished Roman Catholic Basilica constructed by the widely known architect Antoni GaudΓ.

Still under construction, this popular church is scheduled for completion in 2026.

The building is broken down into three façades : The Nativity ( NE) The Passion(SW) , and The Glory (SE) .

The next stop was the Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona. In 1888 Barcelona hosted the Universal Exhibition. The Arc de Triomf was built as the gateway to the fair which was held in the Parc de la Ciutadella. The monument is classical in shape and proportions and features ground-breaking sculptural and decorative finishes replete with symbolism. It has become one of the city’s iconic landmarks.

Last week I had the pleasure of spending a few days in the lovely city of Barcelona. Honestly, I wasn’t too thrilled about going because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Now, I can honestly say I loved every minute that I was in Spain. Here’s a look at some of my most notable moments from the city of Gaudi as it is often referred.

β€œAbove all , I want to be happy, and at Barcelona, I’m happy”.

From the moment our flight landed , I immediately loved everything about Barcelona . The weather was amazing, especially considering it is late February and the temperatures in the states are brutally cold. Everyday the temperatures hovered between 60- 65 degrees with completely sunny β˜€οΈ skies. My only wish would have been for those temperatures to climb into the 80’s so that we could enjoy the rooftop pool and the beach πŸ–. Other than that the weather was perfect. From JFK airport the flight ✈️ was 7 hours and 15 minutes so it wasn’t too bad. However , the time difference ( Barcelona is ahead +6 hours) was pretty significant and forced us to spend the first day pretty much relaxing at the hotel and whatever was in the neighborhood. Fortunately we were about 10 minutes walking distance from GlΓ²ries (mall). We were able to grab a quick bite to eat and shop at a few stores before calling it a night.

Day 2 πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έβ˜€οΈ

Day 2 in Barcelona is where all of the fun really began. We woke up and enjoyed a decent breakfast at the hotel and we were on in the streets. The night before as my girlfriend laid there sleep I decided it would be an awesome experience to go to an FC Barcelona soccer match ⚽️ .

The stadium wasn’t filled to capacity but they had it rocking from the start of the match ! 66,000 fans witnessed Messi put on a show. Lionel Messi finished the game with four goals as FC Barcelona cruised to an easy victory !

Fans clapping and cheering before the game started.

After the game we decided to go back to the hotel and get ready to experience the nightlife in Barcelona. I must admit I was shocked and had a ton of fun ! First stop was Ice Barcelona , the first of its kind in the world!

Next we decided to hit the casino which was located a few hundred feet away from all of the major clubs and the beach . It was a very nice and clean casino that had live dealers as well. If gambling is your thing , then this is where you need to be!

The rest of the night we just bar hopped and had too much fun !!!! Below I’ll leave some pics and videos highlighting the fun … time in later this week to find out what else Barcelona had to offer ✌🏾✊🏽

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

Hey everyone, I’m back with more content and insight on another great place you can visit . Last year for my 34th birthday I was able to travel to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil πŸ‡§πŸ‡· . So I’ll try to give you guys as much information as possible for your trip to Rio .

Brazilian visa πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

One of the first things that I was required to do upon arrival to Brazil was securing my visa. I believe that has since changed but makes sure you find out for sure before boarding your flight ✈️. It was a smooth flight from Miami , but also a long 8-hours . Make sure to grab some comfortable headphones and some entertainment if you are like me and watched all on the movies they offer on these planes.

Copacabana beach was full of great sights !!!

I remember how excited I was when our flight took off from Miami, Florida . I couldn’t wait to walk the beaches of Rio and see the Christ the Redeemer statue. Once we settled in our room at the Orla Copacabana Hotel , the first thing I wanted to do was stroll the beach πŸ–. I’m my opinion that was one of the best things about the Orla Hotel , it was conveniently located right on the beach. From the roof of the hotel , you had an amazing view of Copacabana Beach.

Attractions πŸ—ΌπŸ—½β›°

If you are into landmarks as much as I am then you know the main attraction in Rio is the Christ the Redeemer statue . However I kind of had a personal tour guide since my girlfriend Tia had visited Rio before . We decided to take a day tour to some of the most popular places . First up on our tour was the Rio de Janeiro Cathedral. The cathedral was designed by Edgar de Oliveira da Fonseca in a modern style based on Mayan architectural style.

Next up were the Selaron Steps. (pictured above) These world famous steps are the work of a Chilean-born artist named Jorge SelarΓ³n. If you are a big hip-hope fan then you may realize those steps from a very popular music video. World renown rapper Snoop Dogg and artist Pharrell Williams collaborated for the smash hit β€œBeautiful”. A significant portion of the video was shot on the steps

Next up was one of the New Seven Wonders of the world , The Christ the Redeemer Statue . This statue of Jesus Christ was built between 1922 -1931, and the statue stands 98 ft. tall. I personally had an awesome time just seeing this extraordinary work of art.

The last stop stop we made was to visit SugarLoaf Mountain ( above ). If you are afraid of heights then you may want to sit this one out . The long cable car 🚠 ride to the top of the mountain is not for the faint of heart. However if you can make it , the views of Rio are amazing from there and you are sure to love !!! Overall Rio was nothing short of amazing and I would recommend all of your to visit soon. Below I’ll leave some more of my favorite photos.

Not sure the name of this place but it is where they hold all of the major carnivals.

Day trip to the Ya-Yo (Miami) πŸ–

Good morning world 🌎 … I’m so excited about taking a quick trip to Miami beach πŸ– . I’ve been to Miami several times but this is my first trip anywhere since I have started this blog so I will be able to give real time reviews of every place I visit.

Authentic Cuban food in Miami , Florida

So of course after an early morning flight the first thing I wanted was some good food ! My friend suggested we try this restaurant called Puerto Sagua . It offers really good authentic Cuban cuisine at a really good price . I ordered a simple pancake and eggs platter served with ham , it’s kind of hard to mess that up unless you’ve got me cooking itπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

My lovely girlfriend is a little more adventurous than I am and decided to try an actual Cuban dish . It was the 1/2 roasted chicken with rice , black beans, and sweet plantains. I would recommend that meal to be your choice . It was extremely good and they give you so much food. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

This authentic Cuban dish was straight heat !!!! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

After eating it was time to stroll the streets and see all of the wonderful sights South Beach has to offer . There is plenty of shopping, restaurants and of course the beach . One of my favorite places to visit anytime I’m in Miami is Wet Willies !!!! Now I’m not a big drinker or anything but every so often I like to kick back and enjoy an alcoholic beverage 🍹. What i like about this specific location is sitting outside at the top of the building overlooking the beach and the city’s busiest street. I’ve tried so many different drinks but I must admit the β€œBob Marley” is probably my favorite .

β€œBob Marley”

Next up was the beach πŸ–!!!! I love laying out on the beach listening to the ocean 🌊 and just clearing my mind for a few hours . Throw my sunglasses on and put my headphones in and I’m in heaven . Peace and tranquility at its finest ! One thing that I thought was pretty cool was seeing the workers setting up the stages on the beach for the 2020 Super Bowl held in Miami . I wouldn’t mind being back in South beach for that because it’s going to be LIT πŸ”₯.

Last stop of the day was another hot spot in Miami , Fat Tuesday’s !!! Enjoyed some more frozen drinks and good food before catching our flight home . Until next time βœŒπŸΎβœˆοΈβœˆοΈβœˆοΈπŸ›©
