Happy New year πŸŽ†πŸŽŠ

We are now in year 2020 and if you are reading this you are blessed to have made it and we get the opportunity to make the best of a new year. So here is to having a great year and thanks for following πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸ»

Amazing beaches and great weather in Punta Cana.

So I’ve actually been to the Dominican Republic twice over the last couple of years and I will honestly say that the experiences were completely different . The first experience in the DR (Dominican Republic) was not a good experience . We stayed in a hotel that was not in a very good location. So we had to find transportation to the local malls and restaurants. This where we were constantly asked to buy products of all sorts . If you’ve ever traveled outside the U.S. then you know how annoying it can be . Be careful and be aware of your surroundings.

Now my second visit to Punta Cana was a visit that I actually enjoyed . I was visiting for a wedding for a close friend and we had a great time . The hotel me and my lovely girlfriend stayed at was the Westin Punta Cana Resort and Club . This hotel was amazing and easily gets 5 stars 🌟. The food and drinks were amazing and we ate really good the entire trip . The hotel was pretty quiet and we were able to relax on the beach and from the patio of our room.

As I stated earlier we were there for a good friends wedding , which was held at the Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana. This was another 5 star 🌟 hotel in my opinion . The drinks were amazing and so was the food . The only difference was it was much more of party scene than the Westin .

The pinΓ£ colada’s at the Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana were fantastic and you can all you can drink with the wrist band !!!!

There were some decent malls that you can spend some time and shopping in the DR but not much more than that honestly . Coco Bongo is always a fun and exciting place to go to if you’re looking for entertainment for the evening. My suggestion would be to try one of these great hotels that I mentioned above and enjoy the beaches and water activities they have to offer .

What does Cabo have to offer ?

Cabo San Lucas in my opinion is one of the most relaxing destinations in the world 🌎 ! With crystal clear water and beautiful white sand on the beach πŸ– … grab your sunglasses and have you some quiet time on the beach .

The beaches of Cabo are beautiful , clean, and very peaceful.

Where to stay ? 🏨

🌟🌟🌟🌟

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott and we loved the hotel. It was a bit small , but it was clean , updated , and the location was very close to the beach and other attractions . The continental breakfast the hotel served was also pretty good . That’s one of the key things I like to look for , it gives me an opportunity to plan our day out before we hit the road . If I travel back to Cabo , this is where I will stay for sure πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

When I travel to other countries I really like to hit the streets and experience the locals and their culture for myself . Residents of Cabo were extremely nice and fun to be around . Started off everyday just relaxing on the beach 🏝 getting hour massages for about $10! Those were some of the best massages that I’ve ever had , all while listening to the sounds of the ocean 🌊

Nothing like a good massage πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ …

After our massages we decided to go and check out the Arch of Cabo San Lucas . For those of you who don’t know what that is , don’t worry because i wasn’t aware either lol . But the Arch is a rock formation located at the end of the Baja Peninsula. Reminiscent of another world, the arch of Cabois where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, but one of the surprising facts about Cabo San Lucas is that the arch was there before the sea. Around 30 million years, the shifting of tectonic plates and geographical processes began to split the world’s second longest peninsula from the rest of Mexico. At only around five million years old, the Sea of Cortez seems young compared to the Cabo San Lucas arch. However, it was during these years that wind, erosion, and waves carved out the arch we see today. The best part of going to see the Arch up close and personal was the glass bottom boat ride . You can ride those boats πŸš£β€β™€οΈ out to the beautiful arch while also being able to see the marine life underneath the boat .

Overall I loved Cabo !!!!! If you’re looking a for a nice trip to enjoy great weather and relax then this is the place for you . If you’re looking to β€œturn up” then i would recommend Cancun , which I will have a review up for a little later . Make sure you look out for my next post and thank you for reading . πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ

What are the essentials you will need to travel abroad ? πŸŒŽπŸ”πŸ›©βœˆοΈπŸ›«πŸ›¬

The key πŸ”‘ to traveling internationally …

One of the most frequently asked question that I hear from family and friends is β€œwhat do you take with you on your trips” ? So I’ll give you guys what you absolutely must have in your possession when traveling to other countries and even some of my personal favorites .

Number one on the list is your passport ! You need your passport to travel to any other country when entering by plane ✈️ . I believe you can enter some countries by boat if you have the passport card and not the booklet . The booklet allows you entrance into most countries except for those that require a visa as well . My advice is to research whatever country you are traveling to and find out if a visa is needed .

I love my travel suitcase !!!!! Its sleek design and space allow me to pack comfortably and not have to worry about squeezing it in the over head bins on the planes ✈️. I collect stickers from each country and place them
on my suitcase . βœˆοΈπŸ›©πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸŒŽ

Next are a few things that I always carry wit’s me when traveling . I always carry a hoodie or some type of jacket . The airplanes and the airports tend to be cold . Not to mention you don’t want to get caught in the rain without a jacket or β˜”οΈ.

I always carry with me a backpack πŸŽ’ that is durable and can fits lots of things in it . Such as headphones 🎧 , laptop , battery packs , and sunglasses. When you are on plane listening to music or watching the movies that they offer u prefer my headphones over the ones that they give you . Their headphones are cheap and very uncomfortable and I just prefer to carry my own . A laptop is also another way to watch movies of your choice and also allows you to do school work or work for your business or job ! A comfortable pair of walking shows is always necessary as well. I tend to do a lot more walking internationally than I would ever do in the states .

Always carry local money …

I always carry local money while traveling. Credit and debit cards are good to have but because of identity theft I try to limit how much I swipe ! Having cash πŸ’΅ is good for paying taxis and riding public transit . These are what I consider the basics , now you’re all set to explore the world 🌎 πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’ͺ🏾

Sydney, Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ¦˜

Sorry for the delay to all of my loyal readers , but this week has been very busy.

Sydney ,Australia offers so many things to do and see that we were pretty much on the go once we woke up in the mornings. As usual we like to navigate through cities using the Big Bus 🚌 Tours. These tours offer a convenient and price friendly way for tourists to travel through the city and see the best tourist attractions .

Big Bus Tours are a tourists best friend. It offers transportation for multiple days to all of the main attractions. Photo by : Ardrice Montgomery https://adrifttravels.wordpress.com

Of course the first place we wanted to see was the world famous Sydney Opera House. It is a multi-venue performing arts centre located on the Sydney Harbour. This unique architectural wonder draws over 10 million visitors per year.

After spending time at the Opera House we had a nice lunch on the Harbour. I wish that I would have started this blog years ago so that I could give you guys the names of the restaurants but I don’t have the best memory . However , I do remember giving kangaroo a try at the restaurant and it was not good in my opinionπŸ‘ŽπŸΎπŸ‘ŽπŸΎπŸ‘ŽπŸΎ. It was tough and gamey , but you can’t go to Australia and not give it a try ! The rest of the food was pretty good for the remainder of the trip!

Next up was the Sydney Zoo, normally I feel like once you’ve been to one zoo then you’ve seem them all. I felt this zoo may have some animals that we may not have on display here in the states. We had a lot of fun at the zoo, we were able to see koala’s and kangaroos🦘.

One exhibit the stood out was the alligator exhibit! These reptiles are so big and scary, I am glad that I do not live anywhere near their natural habitats.

Our next stop was the world-famous Bondi Beach . Even though the weather was a bit cold there were plenty of Australians out catching some sun rays and water waves.

In April of 2017 I had the opportunity to take a trip to Sydney, Australia. I will try my best to give all of my readers accurate details of that trip , but remember that it was a couple of years ago .

The flight over βœˆοΈπŸ›«πŸ›¬πŸ›©….

At the time this was the absolute longest flight I had been on in my life ! I believe we flew from Indy to Los Angeles & Los Angeles to Sydney . Thank God we had a layover in between because there was no way I would be able to take a straight flight from Indy which is 20+ hours . The flight didn’t seem that long as I was able to secure a first class seat. International flights usually take off at night which I think is great so you can sleep for majority of the flight. First class also offers great food and drink selections as well as small bed that you can stretch out and relax in . Have you a couple drinks 🍸 , watch a movie and you will arrive before you know it … at least that’s what I thought 🀣🀣🀣🀣. I remember sleeping peacefully until we hit a rough spot of turbulence flying over the Pacific Ocean . Scared isn’t even the word to describe what I was in that moment lol . I was praying πŸ™πŸΎ Lord please let us make it through this flight. I remember it lasting for a looooongggg time too. Once we got through that though the flight was absolutely great !! S/O to American Airlines , my favorite airline to fly .

Me being goofy !!!! I was so happy to be in first class , can you tell ? 🀣🀣🀣🀣

DAY 1 : After such a long flight and a drastic time change of +16 hours we were ready to crash. We decided to catch a taxi and go right to our hotel and chill . One thing that we noticed was how clean the streets of Sydney were . After our nap we walked around a little bit to try and find some food we felt comfortable walking around . I like to walk around and see exactly how other around the world are living on a daily basis . Once we arrived back at the hotel it was pretty late , but our internal clocks were still on United States time and we couldn’t sleep . I could tell the Australians don’t really watch tv to much because their local channels were showing married with children . We watched that until we fell asleep, getting ready for the next days adventures.

Today for #FlashbackFriday I’m going to take a look back into my trip to Aruba πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ό. Aruba is a very beautiful place with amazing food . There wasn’t much night life , but other than that Aruba was a great experience . There was plenty of shopping and beautiful scenery to enjoy . We stayed at a lovely resort that was right across the street from the Caribbean Sea .

Food : ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Aruba’s cuisine is simply amazing to say the least !!! Our first night there we enjoyed a romantic sunset πŸŒ… dinner on the beach. Throughout the weekend we enjoyed great food and drinks that you don’t find too often around the world .

Attractions and Fun : ⭐️⭐️

Aruba is one of the most laid back and relaxing places I’ve traveled to , but there weren’t a lot of things to keep you busy. I’m big on landmarks and seeing different wonders of the world and Aruba didn’t offer that unfortunately. If you want to relax , do some water sport activities and have and intimate vacation then this is where you want to be. Some of the resorts do offer smaller casinos and drinks 🍹 if you want to try your luck .

The nightlife wasn’t much fun in Aruba πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ό

Verdict: πŸ‘πŸ½ πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ out of 5

Good morning world 🌎 …. let’s talk about one of my favorite destinations thus far …. Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡

James Bond Island photo by: https://adrifttravels.wordpress.com

Phuket, Thailand is a dream vacation spot that everyone should visit !!!! The first thing that people always want to know is β€œhow long is the flight?” Well that depends on the route you take but prepare yourself for at least 23 hours , but it is well worth it . When I’m on vacation I like to be on the move , not wasting time in my hotel room . In Thailand there was so much to do that I can hardly remember the hotel we stayed in πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£. The best part about Thailand is how affordable it is , you will hardly notice a dent in your bank account . Food is cheap , activities are cheap, and travel around the city is equally inexpensive .
